Wednesdays Wondrous Works of Art 1

Paul Klee. Cat and Bird. 1928

Paul Klee's painting style evolved into the creation of fields of color and playful linear images based on the world around him.

In this painting, using just a few lines to form geometric shapes, Klee fills the colorful picture plane with an abstract cat and bird.

What is abstract???
abstract - denoting art characterized by geometric,
formalized, or otherwise nonrepresentational qualities
(a non-lifelike portrayal of real world objects)
