Belshazzar's Feast
REMBRANDT
(1606-1669)

Rembrandt was born in Leiden, Holland, and became the most influential Dutch artist of the 17th century.

Long after King Solomon's death, Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, captures Jerusalem.  At a great feast, his son, King Belshazzar, serves wine in precious goblets which his father took from the Lord's temple.  Suddenly a dreadful omen appears.
